Bridge to the Doctorate Student Accomplishments
During the last year, two of the twelve Bridge to the Doctorate Candidates from the Class of 2005 at Drexel University (Cohort 3) have completed their Ph.D.’s and have moved on to careers in academia and industry. Also one of the twelve Bridge candidates from Cohort I (2003) at the University of Delaware has completed her Ph.D. at Pennsylvania State University and now is serving in the military.
This year, two of the first Drexel University Bridge to the Doctorate Candidates have completed their Dissertations and moved on in the next stage of their professional development. Dr. Quincy Brown, who came to the Bridge program from North Carolina A&T University, finished her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Drexel and moved on to the University of Maryland for a Post Doctorate assignment. She has recently been appointed to a tenured faculty position at Bowie State University in Maryland. Yolanda Williams-Bey hailed from Cheyney State University and came to the Bridge program. She has completed her M.S. and Ph.D. requirements and is currently working on a Post Doctorate at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Yolanda will be continuing her research on the identification of mechanisms of decreased immune response in the elderly investigating cytokines which may alter the mechanism.
